Frösötornet — Attraction in Östersunds kommun

It was a great viewpoint where you can overlooks the city of Östersund and surrounding areas. Definitely, this is a go-to place if you happen to be in Östersund. There is a small entrance fee (20 kr) to the observation deck and you pay it at the cafe inside the towner and a staff opens the door to the stair to the observation deck for you. It was a bit scary to walk up the steep stairs to the deck, especially, on a very windy day, but was worth it. There is an elevator inside the tower so you can get to the deck by it.

There was a cozy cafe with plenty of seats, pastries and some Jämtland souvenirs. It was nice to take some rest after visiting the observation deck. I bought a Jämtland honey as a souvenir and it was tasty.

To get there, I took a bus to Källparken, had to walk to Ladängen and walk up the ski slope to the Frösötornet, but it was fun to hike up the slope and I could see a nice view from the slope. I thought there was a bus that goes to a nearby bus stop Ladängen, but it was maybe because of the summer season, there was no bus to the bus top.

Fin utkik, man ser långt. Inträde 20kr per vuxen (kommer inte ihåg om hälften eller gratis för barn/barn under en viss ålder). Hiss upp finns, vilket är rätt ok, men minns inte att jag såg nån ramp upp till fiket/receptionen, så kan inte säga om det är tillgängligt för rullstol. Som en person som är stundtals rörelsehindrad pga ledsmärta så var jag nöjd med räcke längs trappen upp till fiket och en hiss. Var medveten om att när det blåser så känns det i tornet och kan vara lite läskigt om du har nån grad av höjdskräck. Rekommenderar att besöka för turister som vill se delar av Jämtlands vackra vyer, då du kan se mot fjällen, stora delar av Frösön, Östersund, Lugnvik och utåt Sandnäset...
