Great point to look at this part of city. Unfortunately the fortress was closed. There is a board about archaeological excavations on the this rock hill. There are still four big automated guns in use on the hill. It seems that nowadays they are building tunell under the hill.

With all the building activities this is a somewhat forgotten gem in Gothenburg. Visit for a guided tour (check dates), or rent for a party/marriage/birthday or why not for a corporate event. Really special place for an activity.

Krásné historické místo. Žádné turisty tam nepotkáte, je tam klid a ticho. Dostanete se tam pěšky, od tramvaje tam vede pěší a cyklistická cesta vlevo pod mostem a pak nahoru. Pro veřejnost je věž zavřená, do vnitř se nedostanete ale dá se krásně obejít. Výhled na město není moc pěkný, jelikož všude jsou koleje. Cesta od tramvaje trvá cca 10 min. Takže žádná dalka. Nejsou tam lavičky ani toalety. Pro odpočinek si můžete sednout na kámen nebo na trávu. Na jaře je tam spousta kvetoucích stromů a okolí je hezké a zelené. Byla jsem za deště, takže nebe je šedé, ale za slunečního počasí to musí být nádhera.

Skansen Lejonet is a small, but fascinating historical site located just outside Gothenburg. It’s a 17th-century fortress, originally built to protect the city, and it offers incredible views of Gothenburg from the top. The area around the fortress is peaceful, with green spaces and walking paths, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
