Silba Siida — Attraction in Jokkmokks kommun

We are a family of 5 from the UK who booked the Sámi experience with Anna while staying near Gunnarsbyn. The approximately two hour drive up to the arctic circle itself was breathtaking. We then met Anna at the arctic circle monument. From the get go Anna was super friendly and engaging. We started in the traditional tent, where Anna had lit a fire and began sharing her experiences as a reindeer herder and her knowledge about the Sámi. You can immediately tell that she is incredibly passionate about her culture and protecting it. Our children were fascinated by her stories as were we. We then proceeded to meet and feed the reindeer, which are looked after by her and her family. It was a beautiful experience and again it was Anna who made it special by really engaging with our children and explaining things while also making them laugh. We finished our three hour experience back in the tent, where we got to try traditional foods and were treated to Anna's beautiful singing voice. We had the experience of a lifetime and cannot recommend it highly enough....
