Hotel Jokkmokk — Hotel in Jokkmokks kommun

My wife and I stayed at this small hotel beside Lake Tavatis recently as a part of a larger tour group - and thoroughly enjoyed our stay!||We had a large twin room with a partial view of the lake and immediately felt most comfortable. The bedlinen looked inviting, while the bathroom was very clean, plenty off towels and loads of hot water.||We enjoyed a superb buffet dinner in the evening, with all sorts of things on offer, from salads to meatballs, fish to different kinds of potatoes and the orange of salads was simply amazing! The dishes were constantly replenished as they became empty. All this was served in the restaurant overlooking the lake. The restaurant was also decorated with stuffed animals from the region - wolves, bears and so on. ||We also enjoyed an excellent breakfast the next morning, with again a great selection of food to suit most tastes.||The staff were very helpful, courteous and friendly at all times and we thoroughly...

The location was somewhat perfect. The room wasn’t so fresh. Under the toilet seat there was dirt , stains on the bed throws and decorative pillows. There was a lot of dust on the ventilation fans and the room was very warm (30degrees Celsius) as it was outside.|The personnel was friendly but not updated, they didn’t ask for feedback and when we asked where we can complain they said that we just have to write on the card envelope, without asking the matter of complaining.|When it was dinner time , we wanted to taste the local Sami plate they have to offer, the waiter/receptionist recommended strongly the buffet as he said it was the same... it wasn’t, it was dry and tasted bad. We stayed at this hotel as a group package on their web site they describe it as a “contemporary hotel” which it certainly is not it is very dated and the bedroom we had was little better than a hostel,curtains that did not fit, lights falling off wall in a position that stopped you being able to site up in bed, very poor furniture,extremely basic bathrooms, rusty radiator and window air vent very dirty ||The buffet dinner was basic with limited selection and only 2 hot dishes both meat with no fish option and only one desert.||The staff were not helpful and didn’t seem to care||It is a shame as this hotel is in a fantastic location right in the lake and has the potential to be much better if it was refurbished and the staff had a...
