My partner and I had the pleasure of visiting Kiruna in early March 2024 and chose Kiruna Guided Tours for our Arctic adventure. We participated in several tours including the Aurora Expedition with Snowmobile + Dinner, Aurora Musher, Northern Light Chase by Minivan, and Nordic Touring Skiing. Each tour was worth every penny, offering unique experiences and memories to last a lifetime.
The guides, especially Arthur, Nicole, and Sarah, were the heart of our experience. Their positivity, helpfulness, and wealth of information made each tour engaging and enjoyable. Their passion for their work was evident and added an extra layer of warmth to our Arctic adventure.
The food provided during the tours was a delightful surprise. We savored a delicious reindeer soup and warm lingonberry juice cooked in a mountain hut during one of our tours. The other tours offered a taste of local fika - cookies, cake, or cheese sandwiches, always accompanied by warm lingonberry juice. It was a comforting treat in the cold Arctic nights.
Kiruna Guided Tours ensured our comfort and safety by providing necessary gear for the Arctic climate. Overalls, moon boots, gloves, and balaclavas were provided for all tours, ensuring we were well-equipped to enjoy our adventures without worrying about the cold.
Each tour offered a different way to experience the Arctic territory - whether it was snowmobiling, dog sledding, driving, or skiing. Even though we didn’t see the Northern Lights on all the tours, the experiences themselves were so enriching that it didn’t diminish our enjoyment.
In conclusion, if you’re planning a trip to Kiruna, I highly recommend Kiruna Guided Tours. They offer a blend of adventure, local culture, and warm hospitality that will make your Arctic experience...
Read moreOur family of five went on the snowmobile tour today and the tour itself was fine. But when we returned two people including myself found that our coats were stolen. They give you big insulated winter gear to wear since you are out in the cold for 5 hours. My new CANADA GOOSE jacket worth $1000 was left as directed by the staff in the changing room since it was a long jacket and it could not fit under the winter gear they provide. when we returned it was not there. Another person in our group had their jacket stolen as well and we suspect it was an employee who works at the store. who ever stole the jacket went through the pockets and left the keys out of the jacket. My backpack was also gone through and things missing from there. They are the really the only ones who can go in the changing rooms and search through everyones things. They have a video camera on the front of the store and admitted knowing that it is not working for a long time. Everyone who works there know that so it leads us to believe it is someone who works there. I did not think that this sort of theft happens in a small town in Sweeden, it is not like NYC. They refunded the cost of our tour after a long argument but it covered less then half of what the jacket is worth. It is 3 degrees out and I have no coat now. They did not even offer to buy a new coat for us or give us any winter gear that they sell in the store. My advise is there are other tour companies out there and to go with them. DO NOT USE KIRUNA GUIDETOUR. It has left a terrible impression on us of Kiruna and ruined...
Read moreA group of us completed two separate tours with Kiruna Guidetour while in town in late November. Can’t say enough good things about the experience, the company and especially our tour guides: Mattias, Dave and Ronja.
Obviously, the team and company can’t guarantee seeing the northern lights on these trips, but your chances are SO much higher way out in the middle of nowhere. We thought we’d be able to see them from our hotel and were very much mistaken.
On our first night, we did the Aurora Colleseum dinner tour. We went before the igloo was finished being built, so we did do a quick lesson on auroras with a fire and warm lingonberry juice in it, but we had our delicious moose meatball meal inside a warm cabin. We got very lucky and had an absolutely amazing show of the lights. Dave and Mattias were so knowledgeable and helpful in capturing the best pictures!!
The second night, we did the Snowmobile Northern Lights dinner tour and that was just as amazing in its own unique way. Most of our group had never been snowmobiling before, but Ronja and Dave helped with the safety and basics of it. We had a blast and stopped halfway for the most incredible reindeer stew. We were lucky enough to see the lights AGAIN, which was an added bonus!
The team was also great about some dietary restrictions in the group, ensuring the pescatarian meal didn’t touch any of the same utensils as our meals, even in such a small space.
Do not hesitate booking with this...
