Tyresö Church — Attraction in Tyresö kommun

Tyresö church is built of red brick and was built on behalf of Baron Gabriel Oxenstierna. He died in November 1640 and the first service performed in the church was the builder Gabriel's own funeral in March 1641. Most medieval Swedish churches have been hit by fire and Tyresö church was affected in the year 1740. The church tower and roof were damaged by fire and the high spire wasn't rebuilt but instead the church got the low pyramid shaped roof we see today. Cute church close to Tyresö castle. Even thought the building from outside it’s not specially beautiful, once you get inside it has a very nice atmosphere and charm. The church grounds and it’s surrounding are very pleasant and if walking distance to the castle so it worth to visit...
