Vadstena Abbey: the medieval abbey was founded by Saint Bridget and was opened in 1384, thanks to donations of the King Magnus IV of Sweden and his Queen Blanche of Namur. The Abbey came to be favored by the royal family and the nobility, and soon became both Sweden's foremost spiritual center and the country's largest land holders. The Abbey was created a hospital and retirement home, from at least 1401. Vadstena Abbey had an international significance as the motherhouse for other abbeys of the Bridgettine Order of throughout Europe. The graves of the Queen Philippa of England, and of Catherine of Bjurum, the Queen Consort of King Charles VIII of Sweden, are located here.

St. Birgittas kloster Pax Mariae este o fostă mănăstire situată în Vadstena, Suedia. A fost fondată în secolul al XIV-lea de către Sfânta Brigita (Birgitta) a Suediei, una dintre cele mai importante figuri religioase ale Evului Mediu din Scandinavia. Mănăstirea a fost dedicată Maicii Domnului, de unde și denumirea "Pax Mariae," care înseamnă "Pacea Mariei." De-a lungul secolelor, mănăstirea a jucat un rol semnificativ în viața religioasă și culturală a regiunii.
