Fantastic place! You won’t be disappointed! We did a lot of things at this showcase Emmentaler cheese making dairy farm and we loved it all, kids and adults alike.
First we ate at the restaurant and we were met by the friendliest servers ever, followed up by a fantastic hearty traditional meal (try the käseschnitte!) all while enjoying the view over the rolling hills while the snow was falling. The restaurant is traditional yet modern and has the cutest details all around; from the flower pots/info signs, to the ornamental cow bell lights, and the wooden interior. Everything is clean and functional yet homey.
We then did the cheese making course which lasted one hour. The interactive and engaging course was delivered in German by a knowledgeable and entertaining male with room for questions, translations and laughter. We took turns helping with the cheese making in the copper pot and all had a blast. We got to take the cheese home afterwards.
We also did the underground tour, which comes in multiple languages, and thought it was incredibly well done. Both from an information and decorative perspective. We definitely never knew that there was so much we didn’t know about cheese.
We visited the bakery and bought delicious and fresh bread.
We also bought several things from the shop which all have a very high standard of quality, uniqueness, locally sourced and made.
We will be back and we will bring...

It was like a wine vertical...tasting how Emmentaler cheese tastes as it ages. And of course, we got to buy fresh cheese from the gift shop. It was a really great afternoon spent...and we got to take our cheese home (well,...
