Sesselbahn Mattstock | Skigebiet Mattstock Amden — Attraction in Amden

We did the hike trail for kids in July , wasn’t crowded at all. It was a comfortable ride up, would have been better if they would operate on longer. They closed around 4pm when we visited, we had to walk down to town as we were late for the last ride. Summertime is so lovely to be out and enjoy the long daylight hours, but we prefer not to be on the scorching sun with little kids, especially at noon. We’d love to come back but rather not when it’s too hot, as there is not much shade around. Definitely wear a hat. Great hike trail for younger kids and doable for grandparents too. We loved the stopover at the bunnies and the Kugelbahn...

We went for a hike. We took the Sesselbahn up and after the hike we took it down again. Beautiful views and a few hiking trails up there. There is a restaurant up there and a smaller restaurant walking distance from where the hikes start. We enjoyed the day trip and will go again for a different hike. Paid 15chf per person for going up and down with the Sesselbahn but you can also walk up and down it just takes longer to reach your actual hike...

Das ist eine der ganz wenigen Bergbahnen, die im November offen hat und dies nicht nur am Wochenende, sondern auch an Werktagen. Ein ganz grosses Bravo! Ganz offensichtlich lohnt es sich auch: der öffentliche Bus ab Ziegelbrücke war proppenvoll mit Ausflüglern! Ganz positiv auch die freundliche Bedienung an der Tal- und an der Bergstation. An der Bergstation gibt es ein kostenloses und sehr sauberes öffentliches WC. Ferner bietet das Restaurant gleich bei der Bergstation eine Terrasse mit fantastischer Aussicht. Ein paar Hundert Meter weiter war sogar noch eine urige Alpwirtschaft geöffnet. Die Wanderwege in der Umgebung sind top und sind landschaftlich sehr interessant. Ich denke, wir haben Amden als kleinen, feinen Ferienort an wunderbarer Lage mit Sinn für die Bedürfnisse der Gäste entdeckt und kommen wieder. Sogar längere Ferien im November wären hier gut...
