Such a gem, the best museum we have yet seen in Switzerland. And it's free. What sets it apart is how masterfully the exhibition (Waldeslust) is curated (I believe the word is correct. Meaning how well the works are selected and arranged into a narrative that is full of sensational and rational meaning). It's a magical place with a lovely café, a pond full of wildlife, a souvenir shop with really nice gifts from different countries, the church bells of the nearby village... The place is worth a day trip since there are some beautiful meadows across the river with plenty of birds and flowers. The exhibition contained works of some really famous creators (Sisley, Günter Grass, Anselm Kiefer, and many more), some quite monumental works and interactive rooms. This is one of the smaller of his galleries that some is shown in and its size means that exhibition catalogues have plenty of things that aren't in the version of the exhibition here: only some of the full show would fit.
But it's free, and it's worth seeing even the subsets. If you want to make him even richer, you can buy an umbrella with the Würth logo for CHF 25 or one of the four biographies of him available...
Read moreThe museum is really very small. 2 small rooms, 2 bigger rooms and an auditorium. Went there because of the raving reviews. But found nothing interesting. Still giving it a 4, because I don't fancy art and have no right to vote on that.
Very friendly helpful committed staff. They have their own parking spaces. Could not get to explore the walk...
