An amazing project to rescue the bears from hard conditions. One bear was held in circus and abused very badly. There are 2 bears living there now are seems happy. The guide who is a german girl was very nice and explained well about this initiative. They don't want to name the bears and want them to let them to be wild and free as its supposed to be, which is very impressive. There is a hanging wood bridge which is a nice experience to walk through and enjoy the swiss Alps panoramic views. There is also a restaurant next to the Bärenland. And you can get down to Arosa town by hiking down through the eichhörnliweg arosa. It's also a good place to bring the kids. They have a museum where they have the graphic pictures of the past life of these rescued bears which is totally optional to visit. But I highly recommend this place. Especially in summer time.

Arosa Bärenland is a magnificent laying bear sanctuary for bears that are saved out of horrible conditions. When you enter the bear sanctuary, you first go through an educational hallway, where you can learn about the misery these rescue bears have gone through before getting their new lives at Arosa. Then you enter the platform, from where you can walk a bridge and hope to spot some bears. The animals have a lovely habitat here, with lots of space, trees, waters to bathe in and more. That means you might have to practice some patience to see the bears, as they can hide if they don't feel like being seen. Wonderful spot, able to reach though a gondola or by a walk up the mountain. Definitely worth the visit and don't forget to donate a few franks so that more bears can get a wonderful life like this!

A beautiful project to rescue bears from cruelty. Lovely place, really informative. You find out all about eurasian brown bears: what they eat, their typical activities throughout the year, etc, as well as watching them interact and move through a beautiful natural environment. There are four bears at present. There is an introductory section and then you go out to see the bears from a platform and an "adventure " Walkway. These bears have suffered so much, and the sanctuary gives you their back story. So it's wonderful to see them so well looked after. I highly recommend a visit. Great for kids too and totally wheelchair accessible.

Small exhibition in the beginning. Otherwise, bits& pieces of information about the bears. The bears were out quickly and coming really close. The bridges give an awesome view over Arosa, especially in autumn. The entrance is for what you get too much( 12.- in combi ticket with gondola 20.- CHF) . Souvenirs are also pricey. For kids it's the playground is a bigger highlight.
