Mineralienmuseum Dr. h.c. André Gorsatt — Attraction in Binn

An excellent (small but beautiful) museum with all the best finds of Andre Gorsatt himself - his lifework. If you visit Lengenbach for the minerals, this is a must-stop. The museum consists of two big rooms with cabinets that display the minerals with enough space and light. A third room is in the making. The shop adjacent to the museum offers some very nice minerals from the local area, as well as an interesting selection of minerals worldwide. This museum is a little gem in this valley of Gems! We had the small museum all to ourselves on a rainy day, so Philipp who worked there took his time for us to explain all about the museum and the minerals. Very knowledgeable!

It is amazing that Andre Gorsatt has been able to find all these treasures in this region. Minerals I thought were only found in other regions in the world. I can only imagine the feeling you would get by finding something beautiful like that!

When you love minerals and you are in the area anyway it is definitely worth the visit!

Worst experience ever, no updates about openings we came and tried to call the owner, he told us he will come only afternoon from 2 to 5. When we came back 2:30 a paper written closed on the door after a last call he finally came to open, without any excuse, he spoke aggressively, warned kids about touching anything. It was one of the worst experience i had in this region. I flew and you should do the same if it's the same person. Too bad for the kids who wanted to see...
