Was here at the end of March. It was a cold, wet day. It was still an incredible sight, as was the small town/village at the trailhead you take to get here. For that matter, the last few miles of the drive in is a wonderful experience. It was a bit like stepping into a scene out of a Lord Of The Rings movie. The best part about it raining was that there were only two other people at the falls. Because it was raining, the trail was a bit muddy and the rocks around the falls and river were pretty slick, so watch your footing if you're visiting during inclement weather. The area is beautiful in winter and worth getting soaked for. I can only imagine what it must look like during spring and summer. Definitely a place I'd recommend making a destination. If you enjoy solitude, do it during winter. Judging by the size of the parking lot, I imagine it's considerably busier during summer. Regardless of when you visit, it...

The huge Foroglio waterfall near Locarno in southern Switzerland is easy to reach, with the main viewpoint right next to the parking and bus stop. There is something for everyone here, with three trails to choose from: a short stroll to the river flowing from the walls, a short 10 min steep hike to the base of the falls, and an hour climb to a high alpine valley at the top of the falls and walk along the river feeding the falls. We did all three, which I suggest for the full experience. The falls live in a tiny village with classic stone “rustico” buildings, just waiting for you to snap their picture. There is one a small cafe serving traditional dishes like polenta and stew, with a view of the falls. Otherwise, bring a picnic and settle in the shade while you...

The village ,the waterfall ...i fought I was in a location where only in fary tails , could be possible !

I was amazed how great this waterfall is ,gorgeous ,potent !

The way to reach the waterfall is easy to find just follow the indications ( brown arrows with waterfall name)and you eventually get there ,the way up will prove difficult to some people ,for people in wheelchairs it's impossible( see in the pictures )there is a large parking space outside the village on the other side of the road ,there also is a WC

At the time I went to the village was pouring rain ,so I could not take the photo shoots that I actually wanted !

But anyway it's gorgeous village completely original and the massive waterfall...

@evyinswitzerland shares an amazing clip from the scenic village of Foroglio 🇨🇭💚 Foroglio is in Val Bavona, Switzerland. The valley is also among the steepest and rockiest in the entire Alpine region. It features those simple, stone houses called Rustici, plus an amazing waterfall as a backdrop. Have you visited this place before? 😍 🎥 Filmed by @bad_vell and In Frame @evyinswitzerland 📍Foroglio, Val Bavona, Switzerland 🇨🇭 #mustdotravels #switzerland #visitswitzerland #swissalps #ticino #travelswitzerland
