Lago Ritom — Attraction in Circolo di Quinto

Very nice and idyllic place on 1850m. To get there, either take the (very steep) cogwheel train or the paved road - be aware that the last 4km it's very narrow so hopefully no crossings with other vehicles... Up there is excellent hiking territory - or you can just walk around the lake (ca. 7km). Stunning scenery everywhere. Unfortunately the lake was not full when we were there, but it was impressive...

Easy access to Lake Ritom via the Funicular. Return ticket (Adult) costs 24 CHF. There are different routes to choose from in order to appreciate Lake Ritom and its surroundings. You can either walk from the Ambri-Piotta station(15 minutes) or wait for the bus (you might have to wait a while though). After 10 minutes of funicular you will have reached Piora. From there you will walk about 10 minutes and you will have reached Lake Ritom. Amazing! Make sure to keep on walking so that you don't miss out on the other lakes! Beautiful,...
