Château de Coppet — Attraction in Coppet

On a Sunday With poor weather... you need to learn stuff about history. We did visit this castle , the one from finance minister of Louis 16: mr Necker where his daughter Mme de Stael used to live and have a famous salon with celebrities.

We were lucky because our guide was very interesting. She showed us the rooms on the ground and 1st floor and explained the most interesting things about this famous lady, so well that our kids listened to her, captivated. 45 mn visite and you are happy!

Beautiful location and views of Lake Geneva on 2nd floor. Amazing to see how the Chateau looked as a snapshot to the 1800s. I WiSH pictures were allowed but it was not. The house guides and stories were great 5min history lessons. However the the Chateau did feel a bit musty and needs to be updated and still maintain its charm. Tour group felt it was a bit old and stale. Needs updates but has...
