Côté jardin - Guillaume Bichet — Restaurant in Coppet

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the pastry shop Guillaume Bichet in Coppet, canton of Vaud, Switzerland.

I’ve tried several locations of this pastry shop chain, and the quality is consistently excellent. What sets this one apart is the fact that you can actually sit down and enjoy your pastries in a tea room atmosphere — most of the others are more take-away focused. The atmosphere here is intimate and cozy, with a charming interior and a great selection of soft pop and electronic music playing in the background.

I had a tartlet with vanilla cream and apple — the vanilla flavor was intense, the cream beautifully smooth, and the fruit (including a piece of poached pear) was top quality. Really outstanding pastry work. I also had a green tea from Newby (the “Human Green” sachet), which was also of excellent quality.

My lunch at this cozy café in Coppet was one of the best I've had in a long time. As we enter the cafe, we are immediately welcomed by the waiters, Julien and Steven. They designated a table in the middle as it was a reservation for two people. Despite the number of clients, the service was quick and done with a smile, the ambiance was pleasant, and above all, the food looked and tasted delicious!! We tasted their "crême brulée au fois gras" (which is one of their exclusive winter entries), along with their dish of the day (fresh redfish fillet). We came here on a rainy day after a tour through the country site, to enjoy a coffee stop. This coffee shop is a bit hidden away in an old renovated building, but once inside it is a large open and modern set up.
