if you want an 'easy' SAC-hut experience this is the place to go. the hike up from engelberg isn't to hard, depending on the chosen route. the atmosphere is nice and the interior is kept clean. however it is one of the more expensive places to go. the admin-staff is very friendly and forthcoming. Do to some judgment errors on our side, we were 1.5h late for dinner, but were still served a warm meal, which was good and tasty but rather simple (soup, ghackets mit hörndli and panacota). the staff was friendly and very 'urchig'. therefore they were rather direct in there choice of words, which led to some of my companions feeling a bit uncomfortable (we were confronted with our planning errors in a somewhat unfriendly way) all in all i enjoyed my stay at this hut and would recommend it mostly for the light mountain-goer coming from engelberg or the intermediate coming from...
Read moreWe dediced to stay in the dormitory, we had a room for 5people but we were only 2 there. There were blankets but we were told to bring and use our own sleeping bag. The showers, toilets were nice, modern, clean. For the night without food, it is 35chf per person including tax. The food selection is great if you want anything. The place itself is awesome, especially for families, a tresure hunt, outdoor bowling, paths, lake, cows! The lift is 42chf all the way up to the hut and return which you can use the other day. But if wanted to walk, there seemed to be like a reasable path to hike up but much better to save the time and use it up pn the top of...

The problem with this hut is the people that run it. They called us blind for putting a tablet with old dishes in the wrong place. They only allow a sjngle coffee in the morning. I asked for drinking water to refill my bottle and the man running the Hut told me to refill it from the tap where 1L of water costs 6 Franks. What he did not tell me is, that the tap water from the washing rooms is also drinkable. They are only interested in money. I would choose to stay in...
