The lift and facilities on the mountain are great but the customer service (at the ticket desk) is absolutely horrible. BEWARE: the EURO prices they post everywhere are FALSE and they charge their OWN daily rate for EUR transactions instead of the prices on the signs and website. E.g they post 38.10 EUR for an adult ticket, but actually charge you 42.17 EUR instead. And payment is non-refundable, so if you decide you want to pay in CHF to not get ripped off, it's impossible to get your money back. It is cheaper to pay in CHF and let your bank do the conversion than letting Säntis charge you in Euros. Additionally (Dec 2018) they are rebuilding large sections of the structure at the top of the mountain, which means that a number of the viewing platforms etc are closed. This was NOT posted at the bottom of the lift. It would have been nice to know this beforehand instead of arriving in a construction area with a number of...
Read moreWe had an overall amazing experience visiting the Säntis-Schwebebahn! The cable car ride to the top was smooth and offered absolutely breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Once at the summit, the panoramic views were unforgettable — truly a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers.
The facilities were clean and well-organized, and the restaurant at the top provided a cozy place to relax and enjoy a meal with spectacular views.
However, one downside was the interaction at the reception. Unfortunately, we felt that the receptionist was not very welcoming and seemed less friendly toward foreign visitors. It was a disappointing part of an otherwise excellent visit, and we hope this can be improved in the future.
Despite that, we still highly recommend the Säntis experience for its natural beauty and impressive infrastructure. It’s definitely...
Read moreI have visited the mountain with a friend and we took the lift up on the mountain. Even during this bad winter of 2020 the whole mountain was covered with a thick layer of snow. It takes about 5 minutes to get to the top of the mountain. Each lift goes every 30 minutes but I'd advice you come a bit earlier (10-15mins before departure) to seize a good spot. It's absolutely worth it.
From the top, you can observe the alps in all their beauty but also, on a good weather day, see to the other countries. The building contains a restaurant and a few places that offer interesting information about the mountain and its surroundings.
Especially during the winter months, it is possible that parts of the roof will be not open to public due to a lot of snow or other weather reasons.
There is not much to be said otherwise. Go there and experience it yourself....
