With limited strength in our aging legs, we headed out on the Bernina trail to the glacier. There are so many beautiful things to see near St. Moritz, including the train ride that passes near the start of this trail (and would be a good way to get to it), but this one meant the most to me. The trail marks where the glacier reached over the last century and a half. We didn't make it to the 20th Century and still were awed by the magnificence...

We went here and walked the 5 km to the gletscher. It's beautiful there but saddened not too be able to walk on the gletscher any longer. So go and see it because it will not be there for too long but do not expect to be able to stand on the gletscher. There is some free offer for children to stamp a book at different posts a long the way so make sure to take a booklet from the box at the beginning if you have kids with you. The walk there is...

Beautiful place! Totally recommend to visit. You can park the car at the parking (it’s paid one, 9 CHF for the whole day or you can pay hourly). There’s a big trail to go near the mountain where the glacier is. You can walk or use ski there. Then you can climb little bit to reach the glacier (it says that it’s on your own risk). The glacier looks magnificent. Blue and white. Very beautiful and fun. Wear suitable shoes and...

Very beautiful hike to the Morteratsch glacier. Up to the wooden bridge, the hiking trail is more like a ‘motorway’. Every few metres there are information boards showing how far the glacier has advanced. From the wooden bridge onwards, sure-footedness and good footwear are required. The ascent to the glacier tongue (approx. 30 minutes) is well worth it! Marvellous view.
