This is a mixed review. We were through hiking the Haute Route. We arrived in time for lunch and the service was great as was the food. Very nice. Spectacular deck and view. Overall, the service was great all along. It was dinner and breakfast where I am scoring this hut down. After such a good quality lunch, dinner was very poor. It was as if they switched chefs. I was very disappointed. Breakfast was the same. It was typical European but lacked many options other huts offered. Instant coffee, one cereal, no eggs. Good beer on tap. Great little pastries as well. We had a 6-person dorm and it was okay. Not charging port in the room. But a small shelf for storing personal items. Lots of hangers in the dorm. There was a 3/4 barrier between sleepers which was helpful, but I don’t understand why the barrier wasn’t full-length. Two toilets for women, two for men. Two showers for everyone. Good boot storage room.

The Europahütte is located in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains. There were beautiful flowers on the balcony and a very warm hearted dog that greeted guests. The home made chocolate cake, I tried, was fantastic. You can get to the hut by hiking from Randa train station towards the suspension bridge. When you get over the bridge, continue up the mountain for about half an hour.

This place is definitely worth a visit if you are hiking up to the bridge or just passing by. It is simply fantastic how they manage to prepare such great food at this altitude. We spent half a day here just admiring the glacier and the surrounding mountains.

This is a beautiful hut conveniently located on the Europaweg. Pluses we’re a beautiful deck and cold beer and wine! A pretty decent menu for such a location. I was disappointed with the evening meal (veal and potatoes) and most concerning was how they are packing people in even during a pandemic. We had 6 in a small room and it was hot and claustrophobic. I know the hut is in demand but they should be limiting occupancy right now...
