Talstation Luftseilbahn Wasserauen-Ebenalp AG — Attraction in Schwende-Rüte

When we bought tickets on 9/7 at 15:15 we told them we wanted to go to the Resturant. He said 20 min walk to the Resturant (which is open till 20:30) then 20 min walk back up. At no time did he mention the last car down was at 17:45. No time is printed in the tickets or signs at the top either concerning closing time. We watched the hang gliders taking off from the summit and hiked to the Resturant. Had our meal then a slow climb up the mountain (our ages range from 69-74). We arrived at 18:05 only to find the departure point locked. No more cars down… we were left with no option but to hike down the mountain. One of our party is recovering from ankle surgery so our trip was difficult and slow. One of our party fell once and one fell five times.

We made it down in about 2 hrs and 15min just as it was getting very dark.

I sent an email the following morning (9/8) and about what took place and received NO RESPONSE.

You can take the cablecar to get to the top of the mountain and, if you want, take a hike/walk. It takes 6mn to get to the top of the mountain by cablecar, where the view is exceptionnal. The two way ticket is 30CHF. Once you get there, you have a few paths to choose from depending on your fitness/the time you have (see map below). I recommend taking a light sweatshirt (especially for children) as it is colder up there. I personnally think that Seealpsee is the best path, but unfortunately we didn't have time to do it (we did the Shafler path instead, which was quite easy, when walking I came accross several old people...

When people say "Swiss quality", the staff of this place comes to my mind. My wife and I got there up in the mountain and... we were wearing non-appropriated shoes. Not only the cable driver instructed us on how to proceed but he also came after some time with "snow hiking anti-slip grips". Let me put it this way: he took us there safe. His job was done!
