A very pleasant day out for the family. The walkways are well maintained and there's plenty of animals to see. The large playground near the restaurant is great fun for kids and the restaurant itself offers good service and a good selection. We also bought some take-out light refreshments and this was very quick and easy.
I will always deduct at least one star for inadequate and/or poorly managed parking facilities. In cases such as this park, which are otherwise very complicated and time-consuming to reach by public transport, (on that very basis) I will deduct at least two stars. We can reach this park in 10 minutes by car (with two young children). It took us close to 90 minutes by public transport and there is very little flexibility with times due to the public transport connection (one bus which goes via Winterthur) being quite limited in terms of the days and times it runs.

And as good as a park like this might be on the inside (it is indeed a very good park!) it is only worth 3 stars to me for it's inadequacies on the outside.
Still worth a visit though. Just make sure to use public transport and make sure it's running on the days/times you plan to visit (and expect that public transport to consume a significant portion...

Nevertheless, what makes the Wildpark so special for us are different things.
It is 14 minutes away from the Winterthur train station by public transport. Talk about cool and smooth. It is basically built into/surrounded by a forest where you can just walk and enjoy being in nature. Again, so close to the train station? How cool. A decent restaurant to get a good bite. We write about it in a separate review more in detail, but also a nice option. Some not-so-commonly seen (and hard-to-see) animals.
So, look, for a family outing frankly it's...
