A mountain top with great views on the dufourspitze. You can also traverse from here to the Dufour. Last part is tricky with mixed rock and ice climbing. Very nice ridge!!

La punta Zumstein 4.563 m. è una delle vette più alte del massiccio del Monte Rosa nelle Alpi Pennine. È la terza in ordine di altezza dopo la Punta Dufor e la Punta Nordend. Il versante est della Zumstein precipita per oltre duemila metri sul ghiacciaio del Monte Rosa in alta Valle Anzasca. Si tratta della più alta parete delle Alpi, e l'unica di tipologia himalayana.La montagna fu intitolata dal generale e topografo Barone Ludwig von Welden a Joseph Zumstein che con altri la raggiunse nel 1820.

Non difficile da raggiungere, offre una vista molto panoramica sulle principali cime del Monte Rosa, vicino alla Capanna Margherita. C'è la possibilità di concatenare più 4.000 in un unico passaggio. Raggiungibile anche da alpinisti alle prime armi, importante essere in cordata e saper utilizzare le attrezzature base del alpinismo (picozza e ramponi), ed i modi di progressione sui terreni inevati.

Cima del gruppo del Monte Rosa a 4'563mslm. La Punta è relativamente semplice da raggiungere, si vede già dalla capanna Margherita e non comporta particolare impegno se non quello fisico. Partenza consigliata ore 04:00 da zona rifugio Mantova/Gnifetti per evitare le ore più calde (in estiva, in invernale non saprei). Panorama mozzafiato, consiglio agli esordienti come me.

Das Ziel der Spaghetti Tour, die Zumsteinspitze. Es ist quasi nur noch ein Katzensprung von der Margherita Hütte. Anlauf nehmen und hoch geht's. Wenn es die Sicht erlaubt, bestimmt nimmt es einem dem Atem. Bei uns war Nebel, grins. Aber nur ei es zählt, sicher hoch und wieder sicher runter.

Petite pointe sympas qui offre une belle vue sur le mont Rose et le refuge à proximité. Ne pas compter plus d'une petite heure pour la gravir, en plus c'est facile. Ça vaut le détour si vous ne savez pas quoi faire de votre après midi. Must go pour une photo de groupe.
