Really wonderful trail that suits most “fit” people though too young, old, frail will find the stairs a challenge at some parts. Beautiful stream and small waterfalls stretch out the trail with diverse paths and scenery for pleasant hike. Some parts also have dangerous ledges so watch out for each other and don’t fool around there. Also many small bridges with limit of six people at a time but they all felt quite sturdy and could hold more people (not that you should test its strength). Takes about an hour but everyone could do it given more time and some resting breaks (some benches but not many), which are welcomed for photographs even if not tired. Parking available on the street but be careful of curvy roads; may be hard to find parking spaces on weekends if many cars. A few fruit and veggie stands along the entrance of the road, which actually goes by a golf course before the actual entrance of the trail. There is a clean bathroom at trail entrance and open space. Overall the trail circles to a finish but some older folks can’t climb the stairs so turn back. Be careful with wet and slippery paths but overall should be no...

One of my favourite places in Yilan County. Great place for an easy hike (40 minutes for adults, approx an hour with kids). Very cool and pleasant even on hot summer days - the trail goes in a circle within a beautiful valley. Good to bring some mosquito repelent. Put on trainers or hiking shoes. Not suitable for disabled, I'm afraid - some bits of a rocky path and stairs. Can get slippery. Check the situation after typhoons or earthquakes. Usually spot several species of butterflies, fish, and lizards. Saw some monkeys once (they don't get close to people though). Crystal clear water. Public bathroom, local fruit sellers. Great spot for a day out in...

We were staying in Yilan for 3 nights and found this trail to spend a morning with kids. Nothing extremely spectacular, but it's actually pretty pleasant - the walk itself takes about an hour, not too tough. The greenery is very nice and lush, and passes a stream with a small waterfall. Some parts can be quite slippery especially during or after rain. I was baby-wearing a 10kg toddler and completed it in 1.5 hours (including photos) with canvas shoes, so definitely doable! Parking is challenging, we had a driver so that...
