These comments are not intended as review of this temple. This is info for anyone who may want to hike to the plaza in front of the temple to take a some amazing views.

If you start a hike from Dagon Creek Trail, and take a left after Yuanjue Falls, it will lead you to a plaza in front of this temple that has an expansive view that includes Taipei 101. Stay on the path.

The walk that will get you to this plaza is a trek, so wear good walking shoes and wear a hat.

The path is mostly paved and shaded, but it is a continuous uphill climb, so you will burn calories. Though the stone-paved path is solid, it is probably slippery when wet. Also not all areas of the trail have rail support, so exercise caution.

During my walk, there were many older, senior hikers. They were well prepared with hiking sticks and sun cover. There are many rest areas along the path, if needed.

When you are about 5 minutes from the plaza, you will hear melodic Buddhist chants piping through loud speakers.

It does not appear that visitors have access to reach the main sections of the temple, including getting water, someplace to sit to rest or use use their facilities.

Temple aside, it’s a wonderful peaceful walk where mindfulness of the path is important. From the serenity of the surrounding, you will hear the flow of the water and the chatter of the birds. Good...
