Jinshan Old Street, also known as Jinbaoli Old Street, is one of the most historically rich areas along Taiwan’s northern coast. A thriving commercial hub since the Qing Dynasty, it boasts a history of over 300 years and is the oldest and most culturally vibrant street in Jinshan. At the entrance of the street stands the famous duck meat food stall in front of Guang’an Temple, drawing food lovers from all over Taiwan — a true culinary icon. The street is lined with a variety of local delicacies such as crispy yet tender pork fritters (bu rou), crunchy fried oysters (ke zhai su), sweet and soft taro cakes, and the creative roasted sweet tomato-potato combo. Every bite is a flavorful delight.

Phố cổ Kim Sơn, còn gọi là phố cổ Kim Bao Lý, là một trong những khu phố mang đậm nét lịch sử nhất vùng bờ biển phía Bắc Đài Loan. Kể từ thời nhà Thanh, nơi đây đã là trung tâm thương mại quan trọng và đến nay đã có lịch sử hơn 300 năm, là con phố cổ kính và đậm đà bản sắc nhất của Kim Sơn. Ngay đầu phố, trước miếu Quảng An là quầy bán vịt nổi tiếng, thu hút rất nhiều tín đồ ẩm thực từ khắp nơi – được xem là độc nhất vô nhị tại Đài Loan. Hai bên phố là các món ăn đặc trưng như thịt heo chiên giòn bên ngoài, mềm bên trong (卜肉), hàu chiên giòn, bánh khoai môn ngọt mịn và món khoai lang cà chua đỏ nướng độc đáo. Mỗi món đều khiến thực khách khó cưỡng lại được.

The old street is famous for sweet potatoes. You can buy a big bag of raw sweet potatoes or other tubers for very cheap. There is also a nice traditional market surrounding the old street. The traditional market has more interesting snacks and ingredients than the old street area. All the fresh seafood and fish looked really good in the traditional market. The old street has remarkable few sweet potato snacks. There is an excellent qq sweet potato and taro ball stand. The rest of the old market has some flavored ice, white bubble tea, and roasted goose. The rest of the old street has typical snacks you would find anywhere in Taiwan. I wouldn't plan a trip to just the old street. It's too short and boring. Make sure to visit the park, harbor, and beach behind...
