Nestled in the mountains, with the ocean in the background you’ll find this museum showcasing the sculpture works of Ju Ming. Ju Ming designed and architected the museum himself and it took 12 years to come to fruition. It seems like an out-of-the-way location but it is a beautiful location and seeing the artworks against the surrounding area you can see why the location was chosen. There are two main buildings, one was exhibiting some of Ju Ming’s work, the other contained an exhibit of multiple different Taiwanese artists. However, the main body of work is outside, including the Tai Chi series by Ju Ming. So it’s best to check the weather before going. I went during a weekday and it was very quiet, there were not many people around, compared to Jiufen on the same day, which was packed. There are two cafes onsite and a restaurant that only opens on weekends and bank holidays. It’s quite a hard place to get to by public transport although I believe there is an infrequent free shuttle service from the station. I drove and there was plenty of...

Instead, it's a big field scattered with sculptures made by Ju Ming and other artists. I would call it a park instead of museum. Although it's an open space, it's close time is quite early - it closes at 5pm, which is never seen in most museum, let alone it's a private one. It's only better than banks. The ticket price is somewhat moderate - if you are into modern art and sculpture then it's worthy. If not maybe it's OK. But the biggest issue is that you can buy discount tickets in online platform like klook and kkday, but unlike most venues, YOU NEED TO BUY IN ADVANCE!. It's a very big park, there is zero queue and very little tourists here.
Take advice above and you can still appreciate the...
Read moreThat's indoor and open-air several venues and museum is a super adventure to Taiwan contemporary art and landscape design with world highest level. I been to many places and art venues( we had our own in Moscow) but this JUMING Museum is far away level up from what I saw before!!! He is genius of sculpture for sure. All his masterpieces made of stone, copper, wood look much more real emotionally than standard realism. It's located on the mountain overlooking Pacific Ocean and famous Yehliu Geopark can be seen afar. Views are awesome! My kids were having fun there drawing with colorful crayons just on the ground and playing with water in special pool area. They have also indoor kids center there. But for me: JUMING works are most valuable experience of visiting this place. Especially...
