Longdong Bay Promontory — Attraction in New Taipei

A must visit if you're in the Taipei area. This park is named "Dragon Hole" after the shape of the bay. It is a long walk with a beautiful view the entire time. If you bring proper equipment, you can also safely hike down to the water, where you will find people fishing and climbing the cliffside. A very compact, but stunning site to see amazing cliffs and colorful ocean. Best times to visit would be during high summer (to avoid the rain and monsoon winds from the north in winter). A short walkway from the car park (behind a temple) to the viewing platform overlooking the cliffs takes only 15 min. Longdong is also popular for rock climbing, snorkelling, and photography. The views are ok. But you have to do a lot of walking. Definitely not a chill type of hike. It can get pretty hot in the summer too. Better bring an umbrella.

If you're a typical tourist better stick to taipei or juifen old city. This place is mostly for rock climbers with equipment or scuba divers.

Only went there because of the 4.5 stars from Google. They're probably all from rock...
