A LOT of stairs, thankfully had good weather but some parts of the mountain can be precarious if there's rain and some of the mossier stone steps on one of the paths back down can be occasionally slippery. You will get schooled by every Taiwanese grandparent who will outpace you while you're huffing...

A LOT of stairs, thankfully had good weather but some parts of the mountain can be precarious if there's rain and some of the mossier stone steps on one of the paths back down can be occasionally slippery. You will get schooled by every Taiwanese grandparent who will outpace you while you're huffing your way up.

Definitely worth pushing to Jiuwu peak if you’re already doing the Elephant Mountain hike. The path is well maintained and very pleasant. After you reached the peak, you can go down toward the Songhan Cihui Temple and grab a metro around there if you don’t feel like walking back to Elephant Mountain.
