Since the penguins are located farthest from the entrance this is a good first stop. I recommend going directly to the shuttle as early as possible in your trip and going to the penguins as your starting point. Then you can work your way back towards the entrance for the remainder of your stay.
The penguins were a fun stop. However, I think the Aviary was just a little bit more engaging. I think the penguins would be very engaging during feeding time, but I don't know what time that is. The penguins are certainly a big attraction! At least three different kinds of penguins that I could see.
The information in the hall next to the penguins seems a little bit dated. Some of the posters are bleached from the backlighting and there were mop buckets collecting water dripping from the ceiling. This section of the park needs a little bit of rejuvenation. Even the gift shop was stuck in a small little room down one of the hallways.
There were a few spaces with open floor plans that looked like they could have been used for events. However nothing was going on, and this open space couldn't even be used for easy sitting.
