龍潭大池位於桃園市龍潭區，是龍潭知名的觀光景點。 清乾隆13年（西元1748年），開啟了龍潭地區首次有計畫的開墾，為了灌溉此方土地，嗣後修築的大埤塘也就是龍潭大池的前身。 占地約18甲的湖潭，三面環山，兼有山水之秀。龍潭區公所將此地規劃為兼具灌溉及休閒功能的觀光場所。 此處最美的景緻莫過於橫跨湖面、淨白色的斜張式吊橋，尤其在藍天的襯映下、清風吹拂，彷如通往仙界的幸福之路，不過，這樣的情境需要天氣條件配合；晚間的白色吊橋會投射七彩光芒，是另一種浪漫的美。 龍潭湖中央人工島上的「南天宮」，氣勢宏偉，祥瑞庇佑此地；九曲式的忠義橋連接人工島與台三線道路；環湖景觀步道規劃良善，涼亭、小橋、溜滑梯都有，非常適合全家老小、情侶、獨行客前來；湖岸景觀咖啡廳嚐點美食、小聚聊天；現在還有腳踏式/電動式「天鵝船」，或勇往邁進直探湖心，或隨波蕩漾漫賞天際，兩人船1小時300元、四人船40分鐘400元。 賞遊結束，附近祭五臟廟的美食也不少，人多的話，「大楊梅鵝莊」就在龍潭大池旁，開一桌客庄味，舉家歡樂；龍元路、東龍路上則有很多美味小食、在地精緻小店：「無敵鮮草冰」是我如“曾經滄海”的口袋名單，每至大池必訪；喜歡吃蚵的朋友，仙草冰對面的「龍潭蚵仔之家」什麼蚵類餐點都賣，比較多人點的是鮮蚵湯70元、蚵嗲40元、乾伴鮮蚵100元、蚵仔煎60元。 龍潭大池含周邊全區舒活慢遊美食之旅，大約3-6小時。

雖然名為大池，其實就是一個美麗的湖。風吹過湖面，水波十分美麗。在池邊散步十分舒適。龍潭大池在龍潭區鬧區西側，西北臨龍元路，東北臨神龍路，西南臨環湖路。隔著神龍路的對面是龍潭國小及龍潭高中。若從3號高速公路下龍潭交流道之後，往龍潭市區方向順著大昌路直走，之後接中豐路中山段繼續前進即可抵達。車子可以停在南天宮前停車場。龍潭大池古時因池面長滿野生的菱角，因此被稱為「菱潭埤」。近年官方地圖註記為「龍潭大池」。龍潭大池的池面開闊，池中有位於人工島上的古廟「南天宮」、具有九個彎曲的忠義橋等，別具古意。大池中央設有吊橋一座，一端是南天宮，另一端是湖濱休憩公園，且靠近南天宮一側之橋柱間設計了鐘樓一座。近年來地方政府將湖濱休憩綠廊、湖濱公園整修得十分完善、美觀，吊橋與南天宮都裝置了七彩霓虹燈，於夜間會開燈綻放美麗的彩色光景，讓龍潭大池成為假日休閒的好去處之一。附近有龍咖啡可以喝個下午茶，賞湖景，賞水鳥。因此讓龍潭大池除了灌溉之外，也兼具觀光休閒功能。大池的西北側建有「雨賢館」一座，是為了紀念1906年出生的鄧雨賢，雨賢樓於2003年由文學家鍾肇政所催生，館前設有一座「望春風碑」由鍾肇政親自題字。館旁另外立有鄧雨賢上半身雕像一座，雕像底座刻字之標題為「龍潭的傳奇人物－鄧雨賢」，他也是第一位被塑...
