I went at the end of April 2023 - rainy season. The place is beautiful. There's a camping site, restaurant and a nice area to chill before walking for 20-30 mins to the waterfall. The walk is a 10 minute downhill trail walk. Once you get to the stream, turn right, and then another 15 mins of walking next to stream. Because it was rainy season - it had rained in the morning and last night - I had to walk in water a lot, crossing the stream/river multiple times in strong current water that was almost reaching my knees. Would be scarier doing this with children, although in dry season I believe it's fine. As a foreigner I paid 23000 (10USD) to enter. They said I should take a guide, and I said I want to go alone, so they let me, giving me a brief description of how to get there. The trail start is just 1 minute away from the pay office. You don't have to take a guide, but you could if you are a little less adventurous. Hiking back from the waterfall along the stream, we actually missed the steps back up to the camping area, so we kept walking for another 10 mins before turning back. I hiked up from Philips (the main road) - took about 1hr and a half. I stopped to buy bananas and drink ginger tea on the way. The walk is alright, a lot of uphill through villages mainly. If you want to take a boda boda from Philips, I think it should...

Amazing waterfall in Arusha. Must place visit. The hike is beautiful and the destination better. Beautiful waterfall on the slopes of mount Meru, that normally requires a short walk to get to. It is part of the early stages of the Themi river, that flows through Arusha's city centre and into its southern outskirts.

Hike to the falls and enjoy the beautiful scenery, or take a dip if you feel like. The hike takes you through the Themi river valley, one of the only ways to access the enclosure where the falls are located, so wear your hiking boots.

No special tools or climbing skills are required to get there, but a bit of stamina is necessary to make your way through a valley filled with pebbles, rocks and boulders - some of which may be slippery.

But when you finally get there, a picturesque scene awaits you. Just remember to get your permits from the ranger post at Napuru picnic site or TANAPA before heading out.

Entry for locals 2000tsh per adult. Camping is available. 10000tsh for 1 tent per night bring your sleeping bags and...

Very beautiful waterfall in Arusha, it is maintained by Tanzania forest authority! It takes about 30 minutes from Mount Meru Hotel/Sekei road, more comfortable if you have a 4x4! It cost: $10 per person that is paid direct either by credit card, or Mobile payment via control number; please do not consider cash as a means of payment! There are guides at the admin, before I climb I thought they were not important; but as I started climbing with them I was glad that I had one to guide me! The guiding cost is Tshs 30,000 only and they have a good support' It was a great experience, not difficult, but challenging, if you want to test your body limits, then this is the place! There is a very picnic area around the admin office with food, bites, nicw music and a camping site! Note: As long as you have transport you can do this on your own!
