Cool place to go for one day. First, we got to the Slipway Hotel, there's a stand that organizes boat rides to both Bongoyo and Mbudya Islands. Payment for the natural reserve entrance is made via credit card (around 18 USD/person), while the boat ride fare is paid in cash directly to the captain (40,000 Tsh/person). The boat typically departs around 9:30 AM and requires a minimum of six passengers. However, on our visit on a Sunday, we were around 20-25 people. The boat first dropped off some passengers at Bongoyo before taking us to Mbudya.

Mbudya Island is well-organized and welcoming. Upon arrival, the staff inquired about our lunch preferences (primarily fish) and drinks. They were very accommodating and friendly, though vegetarian options were limited to salad. Prices are reasonable, and the overall experience is pleasant. The island also features security personnel who monitor the waters.

For activities, there's a spot for beach volleyball, and snorkeling gear is available for those interested in exploring the underwater world. Overall, Mbudya Island offers a well-rounded day trip with good food, friendly staff, and some activities to keep you entertained. Swimming in the Indian ocean is an...

POSITIVITY: Great island.... Good place to hang out and have fun with family, friends. Make sure to take a speaker with you if you are with some vibing crew! But whatsoever, it's also a great place to meditate and breathe. Food and drinks are also allowed to carry with. But yet, the island offers food for cost.

The island is so clean(haven't seen shells around, can't know why.... GOD'S CREATION 😇😍) The waters reflect the sky then turn blue, sometimes waters turn into light green because of the sea vegetation ,BEAUTIFUL VIEW❤️ Visiting hours are from 1200hours to 1800hours.

GOVERNMENT CHARGES: 6,000 for students WITH THE ID 12,000 for non-students

NEGATIVITY: I just wonder why we pay charges for the island and yet, someone has to pay AGAIN for the hut to accomodate(around 15,000)and still pay for a table and chairs(15,000 again) .... SMH! 😑

The washrooms are not that clean, neither have enough water to accommodate...

Dar's own mini zanzibar paradise. Beautiful island just off the city coast, with several hotels offering boat rides to the island (reasonably priced), the ride is around 30 minutes with the small boats, the main beach is clean, the water is clear. It can get a bit crowded on weekends. There is another beach on the other side of the island, acvessible by walking through a forest path, its usually quiet with few or no people, but it is sometimes littered with plastic from the city and nearby zanzibar, sad that pollution all the way from zanzibar reaches these beautiful paradises. You can pay for the beach bandas(huts), or beach mats, but recently they have been fewer available. All in all,...
