Wat Yansangwararam
Wat Yansangwararam, often referred to as Wat Yan, is a significant Buddhist temple complex located in Huai Yai, near Pattaya, in Chon Buri Province, Thailand. The temple was established in 1976 in honor of the Supreme Patriarch Somdet Phra Yanasangworn.
The complex spans over 145 acres and features a variety of architectural styles, reflecting Thai, Indian, Chinese, and Swiss influences. One of the most notable structures is the replica of the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, India, which commemorates the place where the Buddha attained enlightenment. The temple grounds also include beautifully landscaped gardens, serene lakes, and international pavilions, each representing different countries and their unique architectural styles.
Wat Yansangwararam is not only a place of worship but also a center for meditation and learning. It is divided into four main zones: Buddhavas, the heart of the monastery; Sanghavas, the living quarters for monks; Karavas, the living quarters for laypeople practicing Vipassana meditation; and an Agricultural Education and Career Development Center.
The temple complex is under the patronage of the Thai Royal Family, and many of its buildings were erected in their honor. Statues of revered monks, as well as monuments dedicated to King Bhumibol Adulyadej and his mother, Srinagarindra, can be found throughout the grounds.
