Kathu Waterfall in Phuket is a delightful natural attraction that offers visitors a refreshing escape from the island’s more tourist-heavy areas. Nestled in the lush, tropical greenery of the Kathu district, the waterfall provides a serene and picturesque setting ideal for a day of exploration and relaxation.

The journey to Kathu Waterfall is an adventure in itself. The drive through winding roads surrounded by dense foliage sets the tone for the experience. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by a well-marked trail that leads up to the waterfall. The path, although steep in places, is relatively easy to navigate, with steps and handrails aiding the ascent.

As you climb, the sound of cascading water becomes more pronounced, adding to the anticipation. The trail is shaded by tall trees, providing a cool and pleasant atmosphere even on hotter days. Along the way, several smaller cascades and pools offer spots to pause and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

The main waterfall, while not particularly high, is charming and inviting. It consists of several tiers, with clear water flowing over smooth rocks into natural pools below. These pools are perfect for a refreshing dip, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists to cool off. The water is clean and the area is well-maintained, reflecting the community’s efforts to preserve this natural beauty.

One of the highlights of Kathu Waterfall is the sense of seclusion it offers. Unlike some of Phuket’s more crowded attractions, Kathu Waterfall maintains a peaceful and unspoiled atmosphere. It’s an excellent spot for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the island’s beaches and nightlife.

There are basic amenities available near the entrance, including restrooms and a small shop selling drinks and snacks. However, it’s advisable to bring your own supplies, especially water and insect repellent, to ensure a comfortable visit.

In summary, Kathu Waterfall is a hidden gem in Phuket that offers a blend of natural beauty, tranquility, and adventure. Whether you’re seeking a serene spot to relax or an opportunity to explore Phuket’s lush interior, Kathu Waterfall provides a delightful and...

Brilliant!

Super clean and tidy! There seems to be some locals permanently living here constantly maintaining the pristine beauty of the place, almost like a temple vibe. A terrific day out for the family especially with young children, with flat plains of soft trimmed grass to play on and plenty of trees for shade and gazebos and picnic benches everywhere.

The facilities here were absolutely perfect. Toilets with showers dotted around, very clean and well maintained with donation boxes outside you simply must thank with a few bhat.

There is a very easy to walk jungle path alongside the waterfall following the river up the mountain. There are also quite a few waterfalls with large deep pools to swim as you climb.

You can easily spend the entire day here. You don't need to bring anything, there's food and beverages available and lots of wonderful spots to sit and relax. Highly recommend!!!

I don't actually know the entry fee for this place because I turned up after open hours, around 5:00pm. No one stopped me from entering or approached to request payment, however I'm sure there's usually a fee to pay, probably no more than a few hundred bhat, a £5er.

I enjoyed the tranquility so much here, I pitched a hammock between two trees and spent the night! Woke in the early morning sun for a fresh mountain waterfall swim and jungle...

Nestled amidst lush tropical foliage, Kathu Waterfall is a serene escape from the hustle and bustle. The journey to this hidden gem is an adventure in itself, with a moderate hike leading to the cascading beauty. The trail, flanked by vibrant flora, provides a refreshing retreat for nature enthusiasts.

Upon reaching the waterfall, the mesmerizing sight of crystal-clear water tumbling down the rocks creates a tranquil ambiance. The natural pool at the base invites visitors to cool off, making it a perfect spot for a rejuvenating dip. The soothing sounds of flowing water and the chirping of birds create a symphony that harmonizes with the serene surroundings.

While the waterfall is a popular spot, the tranquility prevails, allowing for peaceful contemplation. The well-maintained paths and signage make the experience accessible for all, enhancing the overall enjoyment. A visit to Kathu Waterfall is not just a sightseeing excursion; it's a sensory journey that leaves one feeling connected to nature's wonders. Kathu Waterfall is a popular natural attraction located in Kathu District, Phuket, Thailand. It is known for its series of cascading pools and lush surroundings, making it a refreshing spot for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Here’s a detailed guide to Kathu Waterfall: Key Features of Kathu Waterfall Multi-Tiered Cascades: The waterfall consists of several tiers, with drop pools along the way. The first tier features a pool suitable for swimming, while higher levels offer scenic views and quieter spots for relaxation. Staircase Access: Visitors can climb up a 130-meter staircase to explore the different levels of the waterfall. The climb can be steep but is shaded, with rest stops available. Natural Beauty: Surrounded by dense tropical vegetation, the area provides a tranquil escape from Phuket’s bustling tourist spots. Best Time to Visit The waterfall is most active during the rainy season, from June to November. This period ensures a steady water flow and vibrant greenery. However, visitors should avoid heavy rains as the stairs can become slippery. Kathu Waterfall, Phuket

So, it’s ruins, very authentic, but ruins, abandoned ruins. It’s doesn’t have swimming zone, it’s just, not full (there is a hole, through it, everything falls off), just the remains of a dirty pond. General path, it’s, ladder, in all of path, it’s ladder. In start of ladder, by my barometer, approx. 50 meters ASL (Above Sea Level), after, it has like “Wall of water” (part of waterfall), but now, it’s barely falls, and, I think, it’s because of winter, but in summer, by photos, it’s looks, like not a lot bigger fall. It’s located on approx. 23 meters above of start of ladder (approx. 73 meters ASL). If go upstairs, on ladder, you will come across a dead end, and it have continued, but in hard jungles, and it’s just stones, we didn’t go there, but I don’t think, that it’s have something else, it’s on approx. 61 meter above start of ladder (approx. 111 meters ASL). It’s free, but I don’t can recommend it, if don’t want, just go on ladder.
