Visited Wat Laem Pho during my trip to Songkhla, and it was such a memorable and peaceful experience. This temple is best known for its impressive reclining Buddha, and it’s definitely a spot worth visiting if you are exploring the area.

The environment at Wat Laem Pho is calm and serene. As soon as you enter, you feel a sense of peace and quiet, making it the perfect place to slow down, reflect, and enjoy a moment of stillness away from the busier parts of town. The temple grounds are spacious, clean, and well maintained, with plenty of space to walk around and take in the beautiful scenery.

The highlight of Wat Laem Pho is, of course, the massive reclining Buddha statue. This golden Buddha is truly stunning — it is said to be one of the largest reclining Buddha statues in southern Thailand. The size alone is impressive, and seeing it up close is quite an experience. The statue represents the Buddha during his final moments before entering Nirvana, which adds to the spiritual and peaceful feeling of the place.

Even though there were no staff interactions during my visit, the temple is well-organized, with clear areas for praying and offering incense. Visitors are welcome to take photos, but it’s important to be respectful since it is still an active place of worship for the locals.

There is no entrance fee to visit Wat Laem Pho, but donations are welcome to help maintain the temple grounds.

Overall, I was very impressed with Wat Laem Pho. The combination of the magnificent reclining Buddha, the quiet surroundings, and the scenic location make it a must-visit when in Songkhla. Highly recommended for anyone interested in Thai culture, Buddhist art, or just looking for a peaceful stop...

Nothing much at the temple except for the huge sleeping Buddha at the temple. The rest of the location is under renovation when I was there. It’s situated by the sea side so perhaps you come in the evening time it might have a better view of sunset.

There is a reflexology over there that use hammer and cone. A very interesting massage that target for specific pain area. Which cost about $400 Baht for whole body. If you want to try then might have to make appt but if weekdays then i don’t suppose there is a lot of people.

There is no entrance ticket to the temple but there is a small market stalls in the temple that can make some souvenirs purchase and some groceries for dried food such as ikan bilis ,...

Wat Laem Pho, where a large size sleeping buddha covered with gold color can be seen along the road toward Koh Yor. It is mostly open air place and in the tropical weather where sun is hot and rain can be pouring. Is not an ideal place to visit on a hot afternoon. It was on a public holiday and we do see only some small crowd brought by tourist vans. My hunch is that, this isn’t such an attraction that can draw large crowd due to poor public facilities at the site. Small bamboo huts for trading were seen with few occupants to do their selling. For now I believe it is a 10 minutes kind of stopover and people would just want to leave. Still more works need to be done to attract more tourists.
