We went yesterday to the Emerald Pool, Hot springs and Tiger cave tour with Get your Guide and the tour company was called Trip Guru and our tour guide was Koon. He was very informative and organised. He let us know early enough about the time of pickup and hotel information. He did send an insurance form the night before for us to send back but we couldn’t fill it out as it was sent in Thai. When he picked us up the next day we explained why we couldn’t fill this our and he said we could take a picture of our passports and this would verify us. I just wish he’d have said that the night before to save us rushing about to grab passports when we got picked up. That aside it was a well thought of and organised day. We got there at 9 after being picked up at 8. Hardly anyone there at emerald pool. Plenty of pools to view and the emerald pool to swim. I would advise to wear rock shoes here because there is algae and rocks in the emerald pool and fish. It’s so beautiful and a must see as well as the blue pool. We then got taken to a restaurant at 11 on site which was Thai Buffett. This was not included and you have to pay 150 baht each. I’m gluten and dairy free and they had no idea about gluten free so if you have allergens or perhaps bring your own food as no one asked me if I had allergens on the trip. He did provide water in glass bottles but you couldn’t take these out of the van as they were glass. Around 12 we hopped in the van and went to the hot springs. The water is naturally so hot in all the pools. My favourite was the waterfall and rocks there we were worried about how clean the water was in the river as smelt a bit. They have toilets there but bring toilet roll as literally a hole in the ground and no flush need to use the bucket provided. Also the showers are not the cleanest so bare in mind if getting changed to go to tiger cave. We then had about an hour at springs - for both emerald pool and hot springs we felt enough time was allocated and he did time it well as there was massive amounts of people. We did look at doing it on our own but it is more cost effective doing this in a tour. Unfortunately it chucked it down when we were at tiger cave so we sat it out and ended up going the next day alone. It’s only 30 minutes from Ao nang in Krabi where we stayed so we personally paid for a taxi and paid the entry fee which is next to nothing. It was a drier morning than when we went with the tour and the people who did go up got drenched and said it was hard to see anything because of the weather and the steps were slippery as was the hand rail. We did get a better view going the next day. If you don’t choose to go up they sort of leave you to wait. No cafe or waiting place - we waited under shelter of a newly renovated bungalow. I think there should be an option for people not wanting to walk personally such as a food ‘how to make Thai food’ workshop or something as not everyone will be able to walk or want to.We allowed ourselves to go up the next day in our own time whereas in the tour you get just over an hour to go up and down. Definitely wear trainers as it’s physically...

If you're an adventurous spirit and love exploring nature, the Emerald Pool in Krabi is an absolute must-visit! This place is pure paradise, but keep in mind—it's not for everyone. If you have difficulty walking or don't appreciate the beauty of nature, this might not be the spot for you.
Best Way to Travel: I highly recommend avoiding tourist vans or group transfers as they tend to slow you down. We rented a bike from Ao Nang (where we were staying), left at 8:30 am, and reached the Emerald Pool by 10 am, right when it opened. The road was stunning, with lush trees and mountains surrounding us, making the experience even more magical—definitely wouldn’t have been the same if we were in a car with closed windows.
Entry Fees: For locals, it’s 30 Baht, while foreigners have to pay 400 Baht, which felt like quite a difference. There's also a 20 Baht parking fee for bikes.
The Experience: We started with some refreshing coconut water before heading straight to the pool. The 1km walk to the Emerald Pool is beautiful but do bring your swimwear! There are no restaurants inside, just one small coffee shop, so be prepared. A locker facility would’ve been great to store valuables, though. Since we got there early, we had the whole pool to ourselves for a peaceful swim. As more tourists arrived, we decided to head towards the Blue Pond.
Blue Pond: The walk to the Blue Pond (another 800 meters) was totally worth it. Despite the heat, we didn’t give up. The jungle surroundings were stunning, and the Blue Pond was absolutely mesmerizing—pictures just don’t do it justice! There’s also a small hot spring flowing down nearby. Keep in mind, swimming is prohibited in the Blue Pond.
Final Thoughts: We left around 2:30 pm and stopped for lunch at a nearby restaurant, which was great, and the cold beer was a welcome relief after the tiring trek. The journey to the Emerald Pool and Blue Pond was definitely worth it. If you can, get there early to enjoy the beauty without the crowds. It starts getting busy after 11 am, but there are a few restaurants and shops outside the pool to check out.
Overall, an unforgettable adventure that I...
