Read moreThis place was beyond spectacular. I was really giddy the moment I set my foot on the island. The turquoise water complements the scenic cliffs surrounding the island. It was a struggle during our visit, tho, as a storm started along our boat trip. We travelled on the last week of June, which is almost the end of the transition month and we're welcoming the rainy days in Thailand. However, it was worth it. All the prayers I murmured during the trip trully helped as we reached the island safe and was welcomed by their resident school of fish in the dock. One of the gems in Thailand.

If you have motion sickness like me, be ready for the rough seas, as much as possible. Don't eat too much before the boat ride and take the sea-sick pills ahead of time. Bring it with you, too.
Rent a private boat with you and your friends or family. Going there in a tour package is also nice, but you can't savour your moment on the island as tours have time limits. A long tail boat will only cost you 3500 baht. It's not bad for the four major islands to visit around Koh Hong. Plus, you can make friend with the local boat operator.
