Ko Hong — Local services in Krabi Province

Enjoyable tour that we booked at the hotel. Really good crew on the boat. the first two islands a little hurried and relatively short stops with MANY other boats dropping tourists on small beaches. The lagoon was pretty, but very busy with other trippers. Ok Hong a nice final stop. With a couple of hours to relax m, swim etc. But better to do the viewpoint first then manage your remaining time. A good trip. Unless you’re first boat at a beach, don’t waste time with the snorkel and mask as the sand is whipped up and water misty/ foggy with particles of sand etc. Not crystal clear and very very poor visibility due to that sand disturbed by hundreds of earlier visitors. Very beautiful and calm place. A lot of things to do - snorkeling, a nature trail through the jungle (very short one) that starts from the beach and ends on the beach, and a 360° vew point (a lot of stairs). The trail and the new point were "equipped" with many informative tables about the local flora and fauna. The snorkeling is not allowed during low water level, and I was happy to see that in such conditions, the staff really makes people go out so they can ensure the sea life is safe. We traveled from Ao Nang to their with a long tail boat. The trip takes about 50 minutes. Firs the boat enteres the lagoon, it is very beautiful for photos and then it arrives to the beach. Koh Hong is one of the standout islands in the Krabi region. The lagoon is the highlight for many, with calm, emerald waters surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. It’s a stunning spot for kayaking or just floating and taking it all in.

The main beach is equally impressive — soft white sand and clear water, perfect for a swim or a lazy afternoon. The island is part of a national park, so it’s well-managed and relatively clean.

That said, it can get quite busy during peak hours with boat tours rolling in, which takes away a bit of the serenity. But if you time your visit right, you’ll get to enjoy the island at its best.
