It's free entry for all. I don't recommend coming here on a weekend as there are many people. And was also quite upset that all of a sudden, many youths around age 14-15 came here, cause many were not actually interested in the art but simply photo taking which I personally feel is offensive to art itself and its creators. Art is meant to be appreciated and understood in one's own subjective way. Not to simply pose and take photos with and then move on to the next scene! That was really upsetting for me as an art lover.
But I was also amazed at a kid who was about 7 yrs old who did lots of proper photo taking of the art gallery with whom I presume to be his dad cause they seemed like professional photographers. That was adorable to watch.
Schools should only bring those that actually enjoy art over here, because its not meant to be a noisy place. Just like a library, but maybe... schools don't teach that here... sigh. The way things operate is just so different in culture.
I have yet to see local people properly respecting museums + libraries here. That's the only part that truly upsets me. Even in schools, it isn't taught.
Nonetheless, the artists are amazing. There is a lot of depth in many of the art. Some galleries only feature 1 artist - gallery C. And this is my favourite piece below. It gives me such piece of mind.
Really enjoyed the anime Vibes with another artist too! And some of the sculptures, damn. They are...
Read moreFree entry. This place felt like a rich man's private Art collection located in a building of his private estate, and opened to the public to promote the Arts. It is certainly interesting for me to see what a Thai Art collector has in his collection. There are both traditional Thai Art and European infuenced pieces. Personally, I love the sculptures the most. Some of them are so detailed and they look totally different from different angles. The weather was sorching hot but it was worth getting burnt by the sun to walk around in the garden to see the outdoor sculpture collection. If you feel like fainting from heatstroke after walking around the garden, a cold drink in the air-conditioned cafe on the second floor is recommended. Prices are reasonable and the coffee is good. But there isn't much food. Just instant noodles and some snacks in packets. If you are looking for a meal, this is not the...
