Although I have been there, it was my brother who was there recently.
The terminal itself is a bit menacing for Bangkok, located in a somewhat desolate area near the airport. A patron really needs a car to reach it. There appeared to be some unsavoury people lurking around the terminal when I was last there before COVID.
The primary advantage of this bus terminal is that it is the staging area for the Roong Rueang buses that travel to Pattaya and Jomtien Beach as well as Hua Hin. It makes it far easier for a patron to purchase a ticket and board the next bus that then goes to the airport to fill up for the 2 hour ride to Jomtien Beach. 143 baht.
If a patron tries to get the bus at the airport itself, travel delays are a given as the buses sell out very rapidly. Even more so now that Thailand has fully reopened to travelers. Upon my return from Malaysia, the delay was 2.5 hours until the next available bus to Jomtien Beach.
On a positive note about the depot, there are comfort rooms and a notions store available for travelers. It is also the termination point of several local bus routes and airport shuttles.

A group of men forced passengers to use their vehicles with ridiculously overpriced fares at the North Pattaya Bus Stop. They frightened the taxi driver I called by Bolt and send him away. Even they showed us a picket with the phrase that stopping a bolt or grab taxi here is illegal.
