Read moreI woke up, had bfast then decided I wanted to go see something on a late morning on Sunday. Chose this place, arrived after a 20 minute scooter ride. Instantly a calm, relaxed, chilled out vibe was evident as I walked in. Entrance fee of 80 baht gave me a good feeling, that as a foreigner, I wasn't paying over the odds. So many different types of art here by numerous artists, majority of which are all out of the suns glare, and plenty of floor fans keeping many of the individual artists small alcove cool. I noticed a lot of the works of art were priced for sale, which is good to know and also I came upon one artists actually at work on a large painting of water Lillie's he had a photo of on his phone and mimicking this directly onto a large canvas, the resemblance was perfect, and I'm definitely not an artist but it looked great. You can lazily walk through the cool surroundings, free of being hassled by artists trying to sell their work, because there were no artists at all, except for one painting and another outside. If you need the toilet they have them here, as well as an air conditioned cafe if you need your coffee fix, although I didn't grab a cup of Java, I did go inside the cafe and the prices did seem a little higher than other places I've been to. I spent around 1.5 hrs just hanging around which was fine for me. Even though the "Village" is set back about 50 metres from a main dual carriageway it's surprisingly quiet and in my opinion an inexpensive way to spend perhaps a couple of hours doing something different than lying on a sun lounger or going through a Shopping Mall, which we can all do back in our...
Read moreIndeed, a very special place to visit while in Hua Hin. All levels of art from kids crafts to world class paintings, sculptures, and more. Entrance Fees: Adult 40 baht, Children 20 baht and well worth it. There is no obligation to buy anything further, but you can get a soft drink, coffee/cappuccino, beer/wine, nick-nack/craft souvenir, or even a Thai Masterpiece ranging from less than $1 U.S. (soft drink) to over $20,000 U.S. (Thai Masterpiece). I'm not sure if they are selling food menu during Covid, but there should at least be something to snack on. It really is worth a visit, and there is an awesome arts & crafts area for kids/adults to make their own "Masterpiece" in the back for a few dollars here and there. It's indoor/outdoor (mostly open-air), so mornings and afternoons are ideal even though there is lots of natural shade, but on the rare chance you have a rainy day at the beach it's an ideal place to spend 1/2 a day or so. I have been watching them grow and improve for well over 10 years now and I am always amazed at how they keep finding ways to make improvements here and there in addition to more and more great...
