Khao Daeng is a fishing village situated along a canal (Khlong) of the same name. The scenic boat cruise starts at Wat Khao Daeng, and for 500 Baht, you can charter a boat that can seat 4 persons comfortably. In addition, there is an admission fee of 40 Baht (Thai national price) for the Khao Sam Roi Yod National Park which you can use to enter other places within the park.
The canal cruise first goes inland where you can enjoy the scenic view of the rocks on both sides. This includes the Khao Daeng Peak itself, the Crocodile Rock, and the Monkey Face Rock. After about half an hour cruising inland, the boat turns back and will take you along the canal and out to the open sea. You will pass by the Khao Daeng Village where you will see small fishing boats moored in front of homes of fishermen. You will also see a quite a few locals fishing along the canal. After briefly venture out into the open sea, the boat turns back and return to Wat Khao Daeng. The entire cruise takes about an hour.

Read moreWe did a boat trip (November 2022) and it was very nice! You start on the river, past the mangrove and then you return and continue past a fishing village until the sea before returning again. The local boat drivers do not speak English and will not be able to communicate with you so do not expect a guided trip. It is very relaxing and the views are beautiful. We also saw monkeys on the rocks. There was no mosquitos on the boat but lots of them around the temple so don't forget...
