❗❗❗Beware of Tourist Scams❗❗❗ A very deceitful private pier! On weekdays, other piers are closed, leaving only this private pier available for boat rides. A Bolt driver scammed us by charging 1,500 THB for a round trip from Bangkok city, claiming it included both Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and Maeklong Railway Market.

Upon arriving at the pier, a woman immediately came over and signaled us to sit by the river to discuss boat prices and duration. The prices were outrageous—2,000 THB per person per hour including an elephant ride, or 1,500 THB per person per hour for just the boat ride.

After discussing among ourselves and deciding the price was too high, the driver suddenly came and sat between us, watching our expressions and pressuring us to choose a boat ride duration.

When we didn’t give an answer, he whispered to the woman selling tickets. Her attitude then changed drastically—she became aggressive, speaking harshly and pushing us to decide quickly.

Eventually, all four of us agreed that the prices were too high and suspected this was the infamous scam collaboration we had read about online between the pier and drivers. We firmly decided not to take their boat.

After telling the driver, he began yelling at us, saying, “If you're not taking the boat, I’ll take you back to the hotel right now!” He also refused to take us to Maeklong Railway Market. After some negotiation, he finally agreed to drop us off at the nearby Tha Kha Pier. We paid the fare and he drove back to Bangkok.

We sincerely warn all tourists planning to visit Damnoen Saduak—be cautious and don’t fall victim to these scammers. These private piers and drivers work together to rip off tourists. Their behavior is disgusting and brings shame to Thailand’s tourism industry!

❗❗❗Attached are photos of the car's license plate and the inside of the pier. If you accidentally end up there, we strongly recommend leaving...

We agreed a price with a driver to bring us to the floating market Damnoen Suduak. The driver brought us to this place instead. Here they offer all kind of activities we didn't ask for and the prices were not what we agreed. When we told the staff, we would try our luck elsewhere. They lowered the price a bit. This went on for some time. Our driver pretended he didn't know and he wasn't very eager to let us go to the other pier. After some time we found an agreement. But it's never a nice start of a tour. If they would have communicated a bit better, we wouldn't have booked this tour. Make sure you make it very clear to the driver where you want to go! They know exactly why they bring you here. On the plus side, the boat tour was really nice and beautiful and the guide was friendly ( but after this it feels always more akward) I only give one star to make it clear that it is not 100% honest. If the communucation and the prices would be better, I would...

PLEASE DONT COME HERE. It charges you $1500 per person, which is super overpriced as a whole boat in the REAL damnoen saduak floating market won’t cost you more than $1000. Our experience was that we booked a taxi and we said we wanna go to Amphawa floating market but he suggested us to go to Damnoen Saduak instead and drove us here, said we need to take boats to go there and there’s no other way of entry. This is not true as there are cars everywhere near the market. Clearly this is a place that relies on taxi drivers to fool tourists here. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM.

We took a 1.5h private boat ride. It was funny as we passed by houses on stilts and observed the daily life of the locals. People washed and cooked by the canal. Many other boats were sailing to and fro for transporting goods and customers. Traffic was busy. There were some floating stalls on the way to the main market. They sell generic stuff and many stalls were selling the same kind of goods. There were restaurants and food stalls. It's nice to see how they traded. A lovely experience.
