Roi Et National Museum — Attraction in Roi Et Province

For a small province city, this small, 3 story museum is worth a visit if you want to know more about the history of Roiet and see some of the Khmer artifacts ( statues, engraved stone lintels, clay pots) that were retrieved when the ancient Khmer temples in the province were excavated. The museum’s exhibits were professionally done back in 1998. Twenty-five years later, some of the exhibits need updated lighting but it is well maintained and clean. Foreigners of course pay more (100 baht) but it’s worth it if you’re into increasing your knowledge about Isaan history and culture. ดูภายนอกที่นี่อาจเป็นเพียงตึก 3 ชั้นธรรมดา แต่จริง ๆ ที่นี่เป็นพิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติประจำเมืองแห่งแรกของไทย ภายในจัดแสดงเรื่องราวที่น่ารู้ของจังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด แต่ละชั้นจะมีเจ้าหน้าที่คอยแนะนำเล่ารายละเอียดให้ฟัง หรือเราจะแสกน QR Code อ่านรายละเอียดเพิ่มเติมด้วยตนเองก็ได้เช่นกัน

ชั้นล่างจะเป็นข้อมูลเบื้องต้นเกี่ยวกับเมืองร้อยเอ็ดที่น่าสนใจ เช่น ห้องเจ้าเมือง ซึ่งภายในรวบรวมข้าวของเครื่องใช้ของอดีตเจ้าเมือง โดยของส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นของพระยาสุนทรเทพกิจจารักษ์ (ทอง จันทรางศุ) ผู้ว่าราชการคนแรกของจังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด ที่บรรดาลูกหลานนำมามอบให้กับทางพิพิธภัณฑ์

ชั้น 2 จัดแสดงโบราณวัตถุที่ขุดได้ภายในจังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด หลายชิ้นอายุเก่าแก่เป็นพันปี

ชั้น 3 จัดแสดงวิถีชีวิตของคนร้อยเอ็ดผ่านผ้าทอมือ เครื่องดนตรี และบ้านจำลอง

ค่าเข้าคนละ 20 บาทสำหรับคนไทยถือว่าคุ้มมากกับการได้ชื่นชมของเก่าหายาก และได้ความรู้จากการบอกเล่าของเจ้าหน้าที่ ที่ต่างยินดีให้ข้อมูลตลอดการเยี่ยมชม แล้วยังไม่หวงห้ามถ้าอยากจะถ่ายภาพกลับไปเป็นที่ระลึก แค่อย่าจับหรือสัมผัสสิ่งของที่จัดแสดง...
