For those interested to visit: Need to either drive or arrange transportation to bring you to the ascension car park.
The journey takes approximately 45 mins from your Betong hotel.
Most people will start off between 4 to latest 5 am to reach Aiyerang to eatch the sun rise. Tut-tut cost about Thb 1,500 return. Cars Thb 1,800. Vans Thb 2,500.
From the ascension point, the park rangers will arrange your transport up to the building with the overhang bridge.
Normally the park tut-tut charges Thb 30 per pax one way. You can arrange for a private 'charter' by informing the park rangers and paying the full sum of Thb 360. This way, you will have not only a more comfortable ride up, but also a express ride without having to queue with everyone else.
There are clean toilet facilities up where the building is, along with a cafe serving coffee and cakes.
You will need to purchase a pair of wrap-on covers for your shoes. This is to prevent your shoes ftom leabing scratches on the glass floor panels of the overhang bridge.
These cost Thb 30 per pair. You need to inform the lady whether it is for guys or ladies as they have 2 or 3 different sizes.
A hint - you can go straight to the lady while your partner helps to queue up fir the entryintk the building, to purchase the wrap-on shoe covers first.
This will help smoothen the procedure.
Once inside the building, you will put on your shoe covers, followed by a short filling up of your particulars - name, nationality and phone contact.
You will then need to decide - take the stairs or the lift (normally available to the disabled and elderly).
The tower building has 6 levels with each level having a viewing deck.

The "Micro Mist Viewing Point,” or the "Aiyoe Weng Mist Viewing Point” on the Microwave Mountain (in Betong, Yala). Visit early morning (preferably before 7:00 am) and enjoy the scenic view of the "sea of fog" and beautiful scenery.
Come here before sun rise if you want to be amazed with the view. As the fog/mist spread across the valley, it looks like a sea of mist/fog creating amazing scenery. It can be a bit crowded as day breaks, so an early arrival is needed to what the crowd and also to get the best view which is usually early in the morning. There are two viewing platforms.
Do grab a sweater or light jacket as it is a bit chilly and cold up there.
Requires private transportation, no buses to this point. It might be costly if you only visit this place.
To make the trip more memorable and worthwhile the money spent, start the trip by visiting the "Micro Mist Viewing Point,” or the "Aiyoe Weng Mist Viewing Point. After that visit the flower garden (also in Betong, Yala). And on your way back make a stop at the Betong Hot Water Spring (also in Betong, Yala), soak your feet in the spring and relax. You could also try boiling eggs in the hot spring and enjoying it.
The place also have toilets, but no toilet paper. You may have to go down the hill/mountain for a short walking distance to reach...
Read moreBeautiful place to be in, its worth getting up in the wee morning, the existing viewing platform is too small to accommodate the sudden influx of crowd all vying for the optimal space to take pictures on.
Those who choose to drive or ride up, to exercise caution, the way up is steep and alot of times you got to use 1st gear to go up, with switchbacks along the way, once you drive thru the mist clouds with care, then you will reach the carpark area, its pitch black up there, and its a steep hike to the top of the viewing platform, do bring along your torches for safe hike.
For those with mobility issue, there is a scooter service to ferry you up or down for $20 bhat.
Toilet facilities is at where you park, and they do charge you $10 bhat for usage.
They are building a bigger viewing platform currently, its gonna be bigger and better...
