I used to love this trail! The parts with the rocks near the water are challenging to me (I have MS), but overall the trail is beautiful. I have amended this review to say I used to love this trail because I was bitten by a guy's dog he either didn't hold well enough or let go a little on purpose-- with no ramifications imposed on the owner. The guy still comes every weekend with this dog, so now I feel rather unsafe.

A great trail for families! There are some steeper parts but not too tough for kids. The trail was well marked with nice lookout points by the water. The parking lot is small, gravely and a little steep. We will definitely do it again. The trail entrance is right after you enter the park.

Somewhat difficult areas arise on the trail, steep inclines and heavy roots are prevalent. Shaded pathway from trailhead to trail, gorgeous view of the lake, and kid friendly… It’s just inside the west entrance, very close to the with minimal gravel lot shaded parking. A perfect 1 hr hike! Trail maps are available at the drive in entrance, and at the trail head.
