The positives: Good customer service. I went with a group and the manager came and offered a personal greeting. She ensured that we knew where the toilet facilities and shaded seating areas were. She even directed staff to provide a cushioned chair for a retiree who was in our group.
Clean environment. It must be a challenge to keep a facility accessed by teens, children and family groups spic and span but Skallywag Bay achieves that. Bins are ideally placed. Toilet were clean and stocked with toilet paper.
Enjoyable minature golf course. This was my first experience engaging in this activity and I enjoyed it! I also observed visitors of all ages having fun. Lightweight, short plastic clubs are even provided for young children who want to get in on the action.
The points to be considered as constructive criticism
Maybe this is our own fault but my group was under the impression that this was a water park and that there would be a swimming pool. This was a great disappointment. The children and teens soon got over it but some of the adults felt a bit duped. THIS IS NOT A WATER PARK!
Absence of showers There is a splash area for toddlers and an activity called bumper boats. Participants will get wet! Additionally in the humid weather you will sweat. There are no showers available to rinse off at the conclusion of your visit. This is a glaring oversight and management should have some installed.
The rides are not impressive. Actually they are quite enjoyable to children probably 13 and under but the rides are not thrilling and they are a bit brief. The rock climbing wall is impressive though. I suppose the park wants it's attractions to be accessible to persons of all ages and it is nice to be able to take your 6yr old and 15yr old on the same ride. This works for groups where the age gaps between members are great but if you are looking for adrenaline inducing rides this is not the place.
Car Park is Muddy when it rains (and probably dusty in the dry season) It is not pleasant to trod through mud and skirt viscous puddles of mud on the journey from the parking lot to the park's entrance.
This place is suitable for families and youth groups, especially for children 13 and under and senior citizens. The environment is relaxing. I personally enjoyed the 18hole miniature...
Read moreWent to Skallywagbay to partake in their very generous offer of 2 for 1 on adults tickets and children under 12 free (we were a group of 4 adults and 3 children under 12) . I was impressed with the types of activities offered and enjoyed them all! The mini golf was very fun, and the 18 holes all had varied levels of difficulty which was great! The bumper boats was most fun and had us all laughing and a bit wet. The spinning coaster was great also but I don't recommend persons with motion sickness to use that ride. Made me feel very dizzy and nauseous (but that's my own fault lol) I managed to do the family swinger and drop n twist without any problems though! The drop and twist had us all screaming and laughing at the same time! For the Rock climbing, only persons wearing sneakers are allowed to climb and the staff were very helpful and encouraging. The staff at the cafeteria were also very kind and friendly and the food prices are reasonable. I recommend the mini pizza as it's only $15ttd. The bathroom facilities were clean and in good locations. Overall a great time...
Read moreLet's start with cost, it's 160 for adults and you get unlimited access. They have 6 attractions : drop tower, roller-coaster, family swing, rock climbing, bumper boats and mini golf. The bumper boats are fun and you get soaked if people use the little water guns on the boats, which I really had fun on. The rock climbing is cool too. I really liked the mini golf. It's 18 holes and you can easily spend the most time here. You also have the option of playing golf alone just pay $80 it's a cool option for a date night since skallywag closes at 8pm. Now they lost a star because the food options were really poor and they don't really have a big air-conditioned space. So if you go during the day you can get pretty dehydrated from being in the sun for so long. All in all the experience was fun and it did not have much people there, so no line up to use the rides. I will definitely go back just...
