This was my first visit to Clifton beach. A few weeks ago, an aunt flew in from NY. She was going to spend some time in her family home in Pt. Fortin and mentioned Clifton beach. So when I had the opportunity to head in that direction, a beach bath was added to the agenda. On arrival we were disappointed at how brown the water. Further out though, the water was a pretty blue. We almost didn't venture in, but we're glad we did. The sandy shoreline was inviting. The water was choppy, with a bit of a current,not too cold. It was quite nice and salty too, good for clearing the sinuses. Though a Tuesday, we had some company, some seating on the shore, others in the water. A pleasant lady even came with the bowl to dip water from the shore. We were pressed for time but enjoyed our brief dip and appreciated the tap to wash our feet before heading to the vehicle. The busy area just after the entrance sign tends to fill up with vehicles quickly so parking is hard especially in the afternoon. The main road is narrow and full of No Parking signs however beachgoers take a chance higher up near the resort. This side of the beach has no bathroom nor changing rooms so prepare to take a long walk south where there's a paid service.
