Fantastic beach for a getaway. Situated on the North Coast, it's past Yara beach, so it's a longer drive than the usual Maracas or Las Cuevas trip.
There was the usual weekend crowd, a bit more than usual as it was almost the end of the school holidays. You pay a small fee for parking on entry.
Long strip of gorgeous beach so you don't feel too crowded. It's easy to find a good spot to settle down and relax. The mouth of the Marianne river flows down to the beach, so you get a bit of the cooler waters and another experience.

Read moreOne of the nicest beaches and rivers to visit. There is a huge yard nearby for camping over night, however this beach is not recommended for sea bathing because of the rough waters. The river and shoreline makes up for it though. You can also visit the area at the appropriate times to witness the leatherback turtles coming on shore to lay there eggs. Likewise, in a timely manner you can revisit to see the hatchling making their way back to the ocean.
